Install a ReadyPay Update
This article covers the standard steps to install a new release of ReadyPay and upgrade your existing version.

Important:
- Some ReadyPay updates may include extra steps. Any additional steps will be documented in the Release Notes for the affected version.
- If your service bureau is updating ReadyPay and ReadyPay Online during the same maintenance window, the ReadyPay update must be done first.
- Please notify Support at least 1 business day before you plan to install any ReadyPay update.
Step 1: Update your service bureau's ReadyPay environment
- Deactivate your RPO sync schedule.
- Stop the following services on all servers at your service
bureau:
- Ready Pay Process Server
- ReadyPay .Net Process Server
- ReadyPay Document Transfer
- Millennium Synchronization Server
- If the update includes a ReadyPay Services update, follow these
steps. Otherwise, skip to Step 4.
- Back up existing config files for the ReadyPay .Net Process Server and ReadyPay Document Transfer Service.
- Make note of the current login credentials used on the services mentioned in step 1. After the installation is complete, you should verify the logins are still intact.
- Install the ReadyPay Services msi installer on all servers running .NET Process Server and ReadyPay Document Transfer Service.
- Run the ReadyPay exe installer on all ReadyPay classic process servers, Synchronization server, and all end user workstations in your service bureau environment.
- Run ReadyPay as an Administrator against your database(s) to initiate the database upgrade process (it only needs to be completed once per database and can be run on any machine).
- Start the Ready Pay Process Server service on one classic process server.
- SyncUp to get tax and database updates.
- Stop the Ready Pay Process Server service on the one classic process server you started in step 6.
- Restart all services that were stopped in step 2.
Step 2: Update your ReadyPay Online environment
- Stop the following services on all servers on the RPO side:
- Ready Pay Process Server
- ReadyPay .Net Process Server
- IIS
- If the update includes a ReadyPay Services update, follow these
steps. Otherwise, skip to Step 3.
- Back up existing config files for the ReadyPay .Net Process Server.
- Make note of the current login credentials used on the services mentioned in step 1. After the installation is complete, you should verify the logins are still intact.
- Install the ReadyPay Services msi installer on all servers running .NET Process Server.
- DO NOT install the ReadyPay Document Transfer Service on RPO.
- Run the ReadyPay exe installer on all your classic process servers and your web server.
- Run ReadyPay as an Administrator against your database(s) to initiate the database upgrade process (it only needs to be completed once per database and can be run on any machine).
- Start the Ready Pay Process Server service on one classic process server.
- SyncUp to your Service Bureau to get tax and database updates.
- Stop the Ready Pay Process Server service on the one classic process server you started in step 5.
- Check the
PDFInstall.logfile on your web server and all process servers to verify that the Millennium PDF printer was successfully installed. The default folder isC:\Program Files (x86)\Millennium 3. If the log file does not contain a "Printer setup succeeded" message, run theInstallMillenniumPDF.batfile to install it. - Restart all services that were stopped in step 1.
- Reactivate your RPO sync schedule.
